Old lady burnout

OH HAI THERE

Week been good so far, I’m really jonesing for my espresso maker to arrive but it haven’t moved an inch yet so most likely won’t have it until beginning of next week but I’ll survive.

I’ve also on a whim ordered an Apple remote (the new brushed metal one) and I’ll see if I can’t use it with my media center receiver, it apparently operates on 38khz and my MCE IR receiver works on 36khz or something so some people say they should work together and I’ll just have to teach my media center what each button does.

I do have a slight Apple fetish but I have it under control.

So I ordered this black glossy film and some white apple logo stickers and I’ll do a slight mod to the door to where I keep my media center, I think it’ll be nice and if it works out I’ll post about it here.

Oh  a funny thing happened while I was gasing up Ivan on my way home, this 40+ lady with two kids running around her came and used the pump next to me and she finished before me so I got to watch her drive off and she did this massive/awesome burnout leaving and it wasn’t like the short accidental kind because it was slippery, nono, it was the long 3-4 second one I do sometimes until I realise that those are completely pointless when you have front-wheel drive.

Okay that’s it, going to watch some Big Bang perhaps, yes I will.

Morning post while Kauko vacuums

You’re such a good boy, yes you are!

Okay so I figured I’d post something pointless while Kauko vacuums, had somewhat of a lackluster weekend since I’ve felt sick so I haven’t done anything worth mentioning.

Went to the gym with Matt late Friday, when we arrived we saw that the mens showers was completely sealed and under repairs so the planned sauna after the workout was in peril until we after a short brainstorm came up with the idea to use the girls showers, which worked out nicely and it being a late Friday we just kind of played the odds of no one being there or coming there so late.

Added : Something else I came to think about, the girls locker room have this huuuge mirror on the wall, it basically covered an entire wall while in the mens locker room we have this tiny prison sized mirror, what’s up with that?? Are we like trolls or something that they just assume don’t need a proper mirror or what?

Anyways yesterday Saturday I didn’t do a damn thing really so I promised myself to get up early today and get at least some things done so I have Kauko vacuuming while I’m going to clean up and do the dishes that’s been sitting there for a good week taunting me, and some other random crap that has to be done.

I said I’d put out my thoughts on Kauko (the iRobot Roomba SE I bought) here so I figured I’d do that while I still remember.

When people come over and see him they immediately think “pointless gadget” or “toy” and I don’t blame them but they couldn’t be more wrong, letting Kauko loose twice a week have almost eliminated the need for me to use my regular vacuum.

Now I do still have to vacuum with the regular vacuum occasionally because Kauko simply can’t reach everywhere but he really does a good job of maintaining it clean so I don’t have to vacuum as often, so instead of ranting on about him I’m just going to post a short pros and cons list about him d:

Efficient : You wouldn’t think he’d be that efficient just looking at him but he really does a great job.

Home : When he’s running out of batteries he automatically goes home and recharges in his base station.

Schedule : I can schedule him with the remote to vacuum certain times certain days.

Automatic : Put him down in a room, press “Clean” and that’s it, that really sums up the nice thing about him.

Virtual walls : I usually have him do one or two rooms at a time, like now he’s doing my livingroom and hallway and I have a virtual wall setup in my kitchen to prevent him from trying to vacuum that room aswell.

Tiny brain : It works by a random algorithm basically going by the principle if you bounce around long enough in the room you’ll eventually cover it all, it does do wall hugging and other tricks to make it more efficient but basically poor Kauko have the brain capacity of a lobotomized toddler.

Walls : It has a brush that’s supposed to sweep dust from the wall in front of Roomba so it can vacuum it but this only works with larger particles so fine sand and such stays close to the wall and this is one of the things I have to get with the regular vacuum.

Limited reach : For obvious reasons, he’s pretty big and round so he can’t reach everywhere and at my place there are even some carpets he can’t get on so he drives around them even though they’re not THAT thick.

Prepare rooms : For maximum coverage I have to prepare rooms for him like put up the chairs on the kitchen table and such, not a big deal but in a way defeats the purpose of just having him go automatically.

Loud : My brothers newer model makes a lot less noise, mine is just loud enough to kind of bug me if he’s vacuuming in the same room as me but still far more quiet then a regular vacuum, it’s not actually the vacuum that’s noisy I think it’s his wheels or the side brush or something, and if you schedule him in another room to vacuum while you sleep with the door closed he will wake you up several times when he bonks into the door from the other side.

Union : Kauko is part of the local vacuum union and constantly demands better working conditions, I usually defuse the situation by slapping him around for a bit but one of these days I’m going to have to get him a new air filter or a fresh battery or something.

That’s about it, he actually just finished vacuuming so I must have been here for WAY too long so going to get on with the rest of the crap I have to do, we’re having a lovely sunny Sunday morning here so I hope my weekend will end on a good note at least.

Passion for coffee

Coffee love, this baby should arrive at my place sometime by the middle of next week thanks to the gracious consulting of my big brother, they have a similar but better model in their palace and I know theirs makes godlike coffee so I have high hopes for my early morning coffee, the main thing with it (like many espresso machines) being that it grinds the beans for you on the spot which for us coffee lovers is like watching porn.

I’m really liking this new early schedule but I’m not quite calibrated to it yet so I haven’t been getting much sleep lately which probably is why I’m almost falling asleep already and it’s only 1900 and I should be heading to the gym right about now.

We’ll see… my left thumb hurts also, what the hell is that about?

Anyways, whatever my next choice is it does not include sitting here so have a nice Thursday.

Early bird

Early bird gets to leave work early and laugh at his co-workers as he leaves

Well I thought I’d hate this getting up early deal but I’m actually enjoying it, the office in the mornings the first hour is so nice and quiet it’s almost a delight to work and getting to leave an hour before everyone else is priceless.

I’m basically done at the gym and on my way home by the time I used to get off work before and that’s just plain awesome.

I’ve been doing the gym thing alone last couple of times because Matt have sand in his vagina or something and I’m unsure if I like it, the first couple of times I worked out alone it was kind of nice especially with the MP3 player on and just doing my thing but it’s starting to get boring now and I don’t think his vagina sand is coming out anytime soon (our schedules simply don’t match anymore) so I’m going to have to find someone else to workout with.

That’s about it really… tomorrow is humpday as someone would say, that person by the way is a poopie head in the head.

Okay going to calibrate my new sleeping pattern now, nite.

Okay I’m back home and this will be a short post, I have too much crap to do at home that I kept postponing because I figured I’ll just do it when I get home.

Anyways, super early workday tomorrow as per the new February schedule, oh happy happy joy joy, now I’m going to have a cup of sub standard coffee and get on with things, hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hi!!!

I’M SO GOD DAMN HAPPY RIGHT NOW

Well not really but kind of, I’ll be leaving for a bit tomorrow and I’ll be back Sunday so I’m pretty happy about that, work today went OK and some other stuff was nice aswell so overall things is in order right now.

We do however have a certified whiteout going on over here right now and I’m kind of worried about my flight if this keeps up, or just about having to dig out my car from the garage in the morning because getting it in there after work today was a bitch.

Just finished watching the Apple keynote about their new big secret which was exactly what everybody thought it would be, a tablet called iPad, it was kind of a lackluster compared to what they usually release and I fear this isn’t going to be very well received even if it’s decently priced (499 dollars), I know I don’t really want one which isn’t the best score for Apple because I usually want anything as long as it has their logo on it.

Anyways I’m going to rest and watch some Big Bang Theory for a short while before starting to pack for tomorrow since I leave straight after work.

Today kind of sucked, last two hours of work was crazy busy and then the gym afterwards kind of blew for some reason, then I came home famished and made myself something to eat but it didn’t really taste as good as I thought it would soooo now I’m just sitting here complaining about it which really is the high point of my day so far, sadly.

However as the clock turns 21 someone is getting off work and I predict this night will be salvaged.

Farewell Conan

Friday was Conan O’Briens last show as host of The Tonight Show, I don’t really watch any TV in the traditional sense but certain shows seem to find their way to my TV in other ways so I can watch them when I want and those are The Big Bang Theory, Top Gear and The Tonight Show (and before that Late Night with Conan O’Brien) so I’m actually quite sad right now… sad panda.

Anyways we get our paycheck electronically now from work and I got the last bonus from the run we had end of last year so my paycheck was (for me) quite substantial so that was good news, bad news though was that we got a deficiency notice at work from Microsoft, not going to go into what it means but it’s not good.

Played floorball Thursday as usual, David performed an epic faceplant, Charleene screamed “WHORE!” every time she lost the ball and our team won so needless to say it was great fun.

Going to grab something to eat now and see what the rest of the day has to offer.

I was hacked

Okay some random tidbits.

As mentioned before I ordered these new bulbs for my car but I got two instead of one which they sent by mistake so I e-mailed them about it and they said I could keep it because I was honest about it (yay me) so keep that in mind, honesty is the best policy.

Just a minute ago I got a message on the screen “A user has connected…” and my mouse started moving around, someone random was remote controlling my stuff, exciting!

Anyways short story long after a short moment of fighting over who gets to move the cursor I managed to disconnect him/her and turn off the sharing program but it was pretty cool, reason it was even possible was that before I sold my old monitor I turned on the sharing program without any password protection because I had planned to try to remote control it from my media center while I was waiting for my new monitor but it didn’t work out so well but I forgot to turn off the sharing program once I got my new monitor so it was basically just a matter of time.

What else…

That’s about it really, watched todays Sweden – Oman game with some friends and had some tacos and got home kind of late so I’m going to go to bed and dream about all the fun I’m going to have at work tomorrow sooo nite nite.

Well there it is, the photo is more just to show how big it is since the camera really can’t convey how crisp the image on it is, I’m hoping to get back into doing some amateur graphics work if time permits again like I used to do years and years ago and enjoyed quite a lot.

As you might see I still have to have my black old glass mousepad there until I get the desk glass ordered so I don’t get the table all scratched up, I won’t be able to order it until next month though because I’ve spent way too much money on toys and other stuff this month.

That’s about all I have time to post, I just got home and I need to make something to eat fast or I’ll die.
